Models
These models are proven to assist in the education, formation and guidance of God’s people to learn more about our Catholic Faith. Family (PreK-6th)
A) Hybrid: Children + parents meet 1x month in community – Children then dropped off for Rel Ed program (2x / month)
B) At Home: Children + parents meet 1x month in community – Children are then taught Religious Ed lessons by their parents in family environment 2x month – monthly homework assignments must be produced each month demonstrating comprehension of material on line text book assessment or completed assignment is acceptable
C) In Community: Children + parents meet 2x month in community (6 families) and teach children the faith, based on the resources: Books, activities, games which are provided by Rel Ed and shared amongst their family group. – Monthly homework assignments must be produced each month demonstrating comprehension of material. Online text book assessment or completed assignment is acceptable. Participation in Mass and liturgical/ social activities at the Parish are encouraged.
D) Online: • Children + parents meet 1x month in community • Children are then taught religious education lessons with their parents online in family environment 2 x month
E) Middle School: 7th -8th (Year 1/ Year 2) / High School: 9th-12th (Year 1/Year 2 ) – Meet 3x / month in community where students gather to learn and share the faith with trained Catechists. – Mentor groups encouraged, small groups with same catechists throughout the year, so as to promote trust and deepen relationships with teens is also supported.
F) Inclusive Catechesis: Children + parents meet 1x/ month. (Optional ZOOM Lesson 1x/ month) Parents and children seeking faith-based lessons and Liturgical activities that can be completed in the home and facilitated by trained Catechist or Catechetical leader
